The Granny Square Project
I was approached on Instagram by @sam_whitethread, a design student in London who is “working on a project exploring the value of craft within an educational context.”
I was asked if I would make a granny square and record my thought processes throughout the making of that square and then send it over to her. I did something a little different and chose to video record the entire “interview” and with Sam’s permission I can share it with you all today.
It is interesting to watch back a recording of your entire thought process while making something as simple and repetitive as a granny square. I remember it being quite difficult to keep talking allowed as I am so used to working in silence.
