The Future is NOW!!!
Last week we held a social evening for our volunteers to help us shape Unravel & Unwind CIC for the future. One of the questions we asked was “What would you like to see in the future?” and we wanted to share the results with you all (also it’s a way we can refer back to the ideas later on).
Some of the ideas may already be in place, and others will be considered for the future, dependent on who would like to get involved with them.
- Taster sessions ie: short workshops maybe once a month
- Posters for advertising (in home windows as well as community centres & supermarkets)
- Hen Parties, baby shower parties, birthday parties
- Community talks/lectures
- Stained glass
- Hire the Kent Baton or similar bus-like vehicle for pop ups in other areas
- Want to see the place thriving
- Sponsorships from Businesses
- To offer diploma’s or something similar to help those who can’t for whatever reason commit to formal education or adult ed
- Continue expanding to other towns in area. As drop in or monthly pop ups, get minibus to bring people to Rochester
- Getting more people through the front door
- Target Scouts, Guides and other youth groups – badge work
- Invite well being group
- Learn as you go workshops
- Support Unravel & Unwind CIC on social media
- Regular Ideas sessions for everyone (general public/suggestion box)
- WI groups, church halls, toddler groups, space time for mums
- Maybe a few exhibitions, or collaborative projects with other local art groups & community projects
- Colour course
- Collective community project such as a blanket or mural
- I would love to invite artists/creatives to do Q&A evenings
- Glass fusing & enameling
