Learn as we go… Felting
One of the things I like to achieve with Unravel & Unwind is to provide affordable sessions in which you can learn different creative skills, and our felting group is no exception to this “rule”. I made the decision a few months back that we don’t always need a tutor to show us how to do something. This not only keeps the costs down but also provides the participants the opportunity of peer support and sourcing their own inspirations.
Quite a few of the regulars were expressing an interest in both needle and wet felting so I organised a monthly group for us to meet up and share knowledge and skills that we were picking up from YouTube and Pinterest. In addition, Unravel & Unwind helps supply the materials needed and opened a group Pinterest board so that all participants are able to share their own work and the work of others they find inspiring.
We’ve now had 4 group meets & the next is on <a title=”Learn as we go… Felting” 17th May and I must say that our progress is coming along quite well. You can judge for yourselves by viewing the images.
We have had so much fun with the wet felting in particular that we recently shared our knowledge with Aztec Day services who attend our drop in service every week. They loved it so much and have shown an interest in doing it again. They produced such lovely bowls & vessels of quite a high quality too.
