We are Moving

From September we will be in our new home. Unravel & Unwind is taking over the old Sewing & Knitting Centre/The Singer Shop in Gillingham.

Sy & Faye found out in June that the existing yarn and haberdashery shop was destined to close down. Which would result in yet another yarn shop in Kent to close.

After a lot of discussions decided it would be a beneficial move for Unravel & Unwind to move in and combine the yarn shop with their workshops, classes and of course the drop-in. There is a way to go before we are completely back to normal though.

During the coming weeks we are decorating and fitting out the shop to make room for workshop space upstairs. Downstairs will have space for craft & chats and a reading corner where people can browse our collection of vintage books and patterns (not for sale). 

The front windows have already been cleaned allowing for more daylight to enter the building, and of course making it easier for passers-by to view the goodies that will be available.

One window space will be dedicated to our “rent-a-cube” scheme. This scheme allows local makers to display and sell their work through a high street location.
