This week ive been looking at all of the ways we can reuse, or upcycle, things we already have.
Unravel and unwind have teamed up with The Living River Project who have some wonderful ways of recycling and helping the environment.
Have a look at their blog here.
Something i thought was really good is reusable sanitary towels using layers of cotton and other materials. Sy uses them regularly. Heres what she thinks about them…
”…it’s not as gross as you think. Just rinse in cold water until the water runs clear and pop in the wash with the rest of your clothes. Depending what they are made of you can hang them out to dry or you can risk putting them in the tumble dryer…”
Our lovely Faye has been doing visible mending and using patches to update/fix clothing. Look at this wonderful patch she has added to her jeans!
And look at this bag that she made reusing jeans! its brilliant!
Jane, who updates the window at Intra, has been reusing handmade hearts from last years valentines decorations to make new decorations and cards.
The larger heart in the window uses underwire for the curved top which is clever!
I think it’s great upcycling and reusing. Maybe you could give it a go.
That’s it for this week. See you all again soon!
